The original Metzger honey dough is "cooked" exclusively with honey from Austria and stored raw for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally before it is processed into Lebkuchen with only spices, without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives, or flavorings.
Thanks to the honey in the dough, the Lebkuchen has a particularly long shelf life. If the Lebkuchen becomes dry, Oma Metzger recommends placing it in a container overnight with a sliced apple.
The high-quality chocolate coatings delight with an intense chocolate flavor and pair perfectly with the Lebkuchen and fillings. The chocolate is made only with cocoa butter, without the addition of foreign fats, and enhanced with natural Bourbon vanilla.
Ingredients: WHEAT FLOUR, honey (35% in the dough), RYE FLOUR, sour cherry jelly (sour cherry jam (sour cherries 45%, sugar, glucose-fructose syrup, pectin, citric acid, potassium sorbate), tartaric acid, agar), chocolate coating (cocoa mass, cocoa butter, sugar, emulsifier: SOY LECITHIN), yellow sugar, glucose, spices, ammonium, potassium carbonate.
