The original Metzger honey dough is “cooked” exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally before it is processed into Lebkuchen with only spices, without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives, or flavorings.
The honey in the dough makes the Lebkuchen particularly long-lasting. If the Lebkuchen become dry, Oma Metzger recommends placing them in a container overnight with a sliced apple.
The premium chocolate couvertures delight with an intense chocolate flavor and pair perfectly with the Lebkuchen and fillings. The chocolate is made only with cocoa butter without the addition of foreign fats and refined with natural Bourbon vanilla.
Ingredients: WHEAT FLOUR, honey (35% in the dough), RYE FLOUR, couverture (cocoa mass, cocoa butter, sugar, emulsifier: SOY LECITHIN), yellow sugar, glucose, spices, ammonium, potash.
