For everyone who has been good this year: The Nikolo Lebkuchen is a loving greeting for St. Nicholas Day on December 6th. The design is printed on fondant and sits on a round disc (7 cm) made of original Metzger honey Lebkuchen – perfect for the Nikolo sack, the boot by the door, or as a small treat at the office.
The original Metzger honey dough is "cooked" exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally until it is processed into Lebkuchen with only spices and without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives, or flavorings.
Thanks to the honey in the dough, the Lebkuchen has a particularly long shelf life. If the Lebkuchen becomes dry, Oma Metzger recommends: place it in a container overnight with a sliced apple.
