For everyone who hasn't been quite so well-behaved this year: The Krampus Lebkuchen is a tongue-in-cheek greeting for Krampus Day on December 5th. The design is printed on fondant and sits on a round disc (7 cm) made of original Metzger honey Lebkuchen – perfect for the St. Nicholas bag, as a place card, or a small gift at the office.
The original Metzger honey dough is "cooked" exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally, until it is processed into Lebkuchen with only spices, without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives, or flavorings.
Thanks to the honey in the dough, the Lebkuchen has a particularly long shelf life. If the Lebkuchen becomes dry, Grandma Metzger recommends: place it in a container overnight with a sliced apple.
