A piece of Vienna to give as a gift: This Lebkuchen slice features the baroque Karlskirche, printed on fine fondant. It is the ideal souvenir for Vienna lovers, a greeting for friends abroad or a special gift for guests. Beneath it is a round slice (11 cm) of original Metzger honey Lebkuchen, baked according to the traditional Metzger recipe – Lebkuchen tradition since 1685.
The original Metzger honey dough is "cooked" exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally, until it is processed into Lebkuchen with only spices, without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives and flavorings.
Thanks to the honey in the dough, the Lebkuchen has a particularly long shelf life. If the Lebkuchen becomes dry, Oma Metzger recommends: put it in a container overnight with a cut apple.
