The original Metzger honey dough is "cooked" exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally before it is processed into Lebkuchen with spices only, without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives or flavorings.
Thanks to the honey in the dough, the Lebkuchen have a particularly long shelf life. If the Lebkuchen become dry, Oma Metzger recommends placing them in a container overnight with a sliced apple.
The high-quality chocolate couvertures enchant with an intense chocolate flavor and combine perfectly with the Lebkuchen and fillings. The chocolate is made only with cocoa butter without the addition of foreign fats and refined with natural Bourbon vanilla.
