The smallest Christmas greeting with the greatest taste: Our round “Frohes Fest” Lebkuchen fits on any gift table, in any Christmas parcel, and can be used as a place card for the festive meal. It is also a delightful greeting for customers, colleagues, and neighbors. It is baked from original Metzger honey Lebkuchen dough according to a traditional recipe – a Lebkuchen tradition since 1685.
The original Metzger honey dough is “cooked” exclusively with honey from Austria and stored raw for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally before it is processed into Lebkuchen with spices only, without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives, or flavorings.
Thanks to the honey in the dough, the Lebkuchen has a particularly long shelf life. If the Lebkuchen becomes dry, Oma Metzger recommends placing it in a container overnight with a sliced apple.
