Our Lebkuchen corner package is for anyone who likes to have their favorite Lebkuchen at home in larger quantities: for the cookie tin during Advent, for afternoon coffee with the family, or to share at the office. Like all our Lebkuchen, it is baked from original Metzger honey dough – according to a traditional recipe, a Lebkuchen tradition since 1685.
The original Metzger honey dough is “cooked” exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally until it is processed into Lebkuchen with only spices and without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives, and flavorings.
Thanks to the honey in the dough, the Lebkuchen has a particularly long shelf life. If the Lebkuchen becomes dry, Grandma Metzger recommends: put it in a tin overnight with a sliced apple.
