Sometimes a Lebkuchen cookie says more than many words: Our round thank-you Lebkuchen cookie is the little, sweet thank you for colleagues, teachers, neighbors, guests, or customers. It fits in any card, on any gift table, and is baked from original Metzger honey Lebkuchen dough according to a traditional recipe – Lebkuchen tradition since 1685.
The original Metzger honey dough is "cooked" exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally, until it is processed into Lebkuchen with only spices, without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives, and flavorings.
Thanks to the honey in the dough, the Lebkuchen cookies have a particularly long shelf life. If the Lebkuchen cookies become dry, Oma Metzger recommends: put them in a container overnight with a sliced apple.
