Simple, juicy and beautifully topped: The honey Lebkuchen almond slice is a piece of Lebkuchen tradition for a snack, afternoon coffee or as a small gift. The almonds add bite, while the cherry in the center provides the fruity accent – baked according to a traditional Metzger recipe, Lebkuchen tradition since 1685.

The original Metzger honey dough is "cooked" exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally before it is processed into Lebkuchen with only spices and without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives or flavorings.
Thanks to the honey in the dough, the Lebkuchen has a particularly long shelf life. If the Lebkuchen becomes dry, Oma Metzger recommends: place it in a container overnight with a sliced apple.
