A greeting you can eat: Our “Alles Gute” Lebkuchen heart with a cake motif is the sweet message for birthdays, anniversaries, or any other occasion worth celebrating. The motif is printed on fine fondant and placed on a moist heart made from original Metzger honey Lebkuchen – baked according to the traditional Metzger recipe – a Lebkuchen tradition since 1685.
Original Metzger honey dough is “cooked” exclusively with honey from Austria and stored in its raw state for over half a year. This allows the dough to mature naturally before it is processed into Lebkuchen with spices only, without the addition of eggs, fat, preservatives, or flavorings.
Thanks to the honey in the dough, the Lebkuchen has a particularly long shelf life. If the Lebkuchen becomes dry, Oma Metzger recommends placing it in a container overnight with a sliced apple.
