Bold, nutty and with a hint of cherry: Basler Lebkuchen is a specialty for those who like it a little more spiced. It pairs wonderfully with a cup of tea or coffee in the afternoon, a glass of wine in the evening, or as a lovely gift during the Advent and Christmas season.
Metzger Basler Lebkuchen is made with coarsely grated hazelnuts, dried fruit and aranzini in the dough, with a light cherry note.
Ingredients: WHEAT FLOUR, honey (25%), RYE FLOUR, HAZELNUTS, sugar, aranzini (orange peel, sugar, glucose-fructose syrup, acidifier E330), CHERRY BRANDY, spices, ammonium, potassium carbonate.
Store in a cool place!

Our tip: Cut the Basler Lebkuchen into thin slices and serve it on a plate with tea or coffee – this brings out the aroma of hazelnut and cherry best. Tightly sealed in a tin, it stays nice and moist.
