Vienna Lebkuchen Winter Garden KURIER Vienna 2019
Lebkuchen is simply a must-have during the pre-Christmas season ! At no other time of year do these honey- and spice-flavored baked goods taste quite so good. Lukas Linsbichler, who runs the traditional business "Metzger & Söhne", thinks the same, and this year is bringing the company closer to its customers once again. After the former Imperial and Royal purveyor's shop at Stephansplatz closed for many years in 2013, the original "Vienna Lebkuchen" is back in the heart of the city this year.
A pop-up shop has opened at Mariahilfer Straße 101, offering Lebkuchen lovers a true "winter garden". Here, customers can sample the extensive range of products and discover new recipes.
The young owner comes from the Metzger family on his mother's side and wants to keep the tradition of handmade Lebkuchen, some of which is filled and coated in chocolate, alive. "We still take plenty of time to make our products by hand and follow traditional recipes."
The KURIER was also able to watch the master bakers at work for our X-mas-Magazin der freizeit . The magazine will be available in shops from December 5 and can also be ordered via the KURIER-Vorteilswelt: https://vorteilswelt.kurier.at/magazine
